What has your depression taught you?
Hello everyone, I hope you are all having an easy Friday.
So last week, we discussed a bit about what are the things people do not tell you about depression but you experiencing.
In my experience depression will always try to convince you that you're not actually going through depression, that you're just over exaggerating everything, that other people have it worse and that your feelings are completely invalid.
To everyone going through depression: You are so strong. You are probably much stronger than you think you are. You deserve all of the love and happiness and I hope you get it as soon as possible❤️
@bestGlobe2878 I understand how difficult that experience can be. Feelings of depression can be very invalidating and it's important to acknowledge the reality of what you're going through. Your feelings are valid and real to you. And, thank you for encouraging reminder, globe. we all appreciate you as well.
If I don’t get my hopes up, it’s harder to be disappointed.
If I don’t trust people to help me, then it’s harder to be let down.
That’s the main message I’ve received with all my years of depression. No one really cares when they ask how you’re doing, so don’t tell them. Don’t be more vulnerable than necessary with people, because they don’t care at best or will use it against you at worst.
I’ve lived with this for over 30 years. I don’t see any improvements.

Depression has robbed me of so very much. The dark and painful cloud that refuses to dissipate. It has taken everything from me over the years and left a shell in its wake. It has carved a hole in my heart and infiltrated the very fabric of my being. It has turned me into a person whom i no longer recognise.
Yet...I am discovering this quiet strength somewhere deep inside. Gold is melded by flame and fire, how much more can a human spirit soar when it has the courage to leave its shackles behind and take that leap of faith.....to fly. Be brave and soar xxx
Beautifully phrased.@sooty41
