ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
I've been dignosed with depression. The psychiatrist gave me escitalopram and an antipsychotic medicine to help me sleep. The problem is i can't study with this medicines, makes me groggy and sleep all day. I took it for 4 months and stopped-he told me to take it for years- i feel a bit anxious at times. Did i make the right decision to stop taking meds.
@spitFire747 Medicines help a lot but you might have to find a right one or dosage by telling your psychiatrist about it. I was given floxetine but it gave me weight gain so the psychiatrist switched me to escitalopram. I'm quite happy with it. If you can cope without medicines then it's all good but I think normally you would need medicines to treat mood disorders.
There are lots of meds to try and some don't work right for certain people. Go back to the doctor and tell them your side effects. It took me at least a year and a half of experimentation to find what would actually work. @spitFire747

I understand that you're having trouble with the medication prescribed by your doctor, and it's affecting your ability to study. It's important to talk to your doctor about your concerns and explore other options that might be better suited for you. It's okay to ask for help and support during your recovery, and there are different treatments available that can help manage depression. Ultimately, the decision to continue or stop taking medication should be made with the guidance of your doctor.
