A bit worried

Hello!

I'm new here, social ressources near me aren't very effective in my case, and well I've heard good things about this place.

I'm simply a bit nervous, college is soon, and it means me moving out, needing a job, and pursuing studies. It scares me, because I've not been high on energy in years due to my depression.

Furthermore, I plan to study into helping others, and it makes me nervous, because if I can't help myself, how will I help them?

It feels embarrassing, I barely am able to brush my teeth and get out of bed, and I'm already about to enter higher studies.

“It’s completely understandable to feel anxious when big changes are approaching, especially when you’ve been dealing with depression and low energy for a long time. Moving out, starting college, and thinking about work can feel overwhelming all at once.

You’re not alone in this. Many people who struggle with depression find even everyday tasks difficult at times. That doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you — it reflects how heavy things have been for you.

The fact that you want to help others, even while you’re struggling yourself, says a lot about your compassion and sensitivity. It’s okay to move at your own pace and do only what feels manageable right now. Taking care of yourself is also an important part of that journey.

You don’t have to have everything figured out right away. You’re welcome to share your worries and thoughts here — we’re here to listen and support you as you take things one step at a time.
