Being Social with depression?

Hello I got diagnosed with depression a few years ago and I have a little problem when it comes to meeting ppl. My current situation is that I'm scared I will feel down and depressed when I meet someone for the first time because we only know eachother online. I'm wondering what i should do when we meet and when I feel like this again because then it's not really fun to hang around me because I'm just.. yeah.. depressed. So I need to find a way to keep my mood up when im meeting this person. Does anyone has experience with this or has any advice for me? I'd be so thankful : )

Everyone has up days and down days perhaps not as pronounced but IMO faking it when we meet others or hang out with others.... often it is apparent to the other person.

I do not like others faking they want to meet or talk to me ... I feel like I am a burden to hang around....

If i am faking to hang around others i am NOT enjoying myself ... and am probably making others feel awkward....... too.

Perhaps both people  have issues with depression ............ if we shared that ...we could have saw past the awkward maybe connected in a shared way and helped each other...

I feel more of us have these feelings yet so many assume we are alone in the struggle.

@communicativeApple9560 I struggle with this as well.  I feel more comfortable talking to people I hardly know, like in line at the store.  However when I meet people that I would like to get to know better and become friends with its very hard for me to feel comfortable.  Honestly I feel like I haven't made a new friend in years, but I dont want that to continue to be the case.
