Being gentle with ourselves. 💕
Hi everyone coming across 💙 I hope your all okay. :') and if not - I hope you know that it’s okay to feel what your feeling right now, and that it’s okay to take things slowly. One day at a time. 💜 I hope your staying strong :') and that you know your not alone. Never, ever alone. 💙
honestly, I’ve been thinking of making this post for a while but couldn’t exactly find the words (?) so I had to think about it for a while. 💜 I think many of us struggle with being gentle with ourselves :') and just being kind to ourselves, and self-care in general. Self-care can be hard. 💙
Oftentimes it’s easier to be kind to another person 💜 to speak a few kind words, to compliment them, to be gentle with them when things are not so okie in their world. When things are hard. But when it comes to ourselves and our own worlds - it can be hard to be gentle with ourselves. :') and i understand that.
But it’s okay to take things slowly. one day at a time. 💙 it’s okay to try. Trying is good 💜 and we can try together. 💙 you don’t ever have to go through anything alone.
Now, I do have a few questions for you all. Hehe. 💜 feel free to answer them - if your comfy. 💙 if not, that’s completely okie too! 💜
- what would ‘being gentle with yourself’ look like for you?
- what’s something kind you can do for yourself/say to yourself today? (Or tonight)
Sending loads of love and hugs (if okay) 💙
@LoveMyMoonflowers "what would ‘being gentle with yourself’ look like for you?"💗
Being gentle with yourself also means being considerate of what you are thinking. Being aware of your thoughts and what you are thinking about yourself. Recognize what is right for you and learn how to let go. By embracing change, you are able to see what is important to you. "Taking care of the mind is as important as taking care of the body."
Thanks for this lovely post.
I think for me it would look like taking things moment by moment and doing what feels natural.
I want to tell myself I'm stronger than I think.
❤️
(And... maybe do the dishes)
hi there @memyselfandmoth 💜 your very welcome 🥺💙
awwe yes :’) taking things moment by moment 💜 and doing what feels most natural sounds good ^-^ and you are definitely stronger than you think. 💙 i think it can be hard to remind ourselves that we are strong :') especially amid everything life throws at us 💜 but i’m proud of you for wanting to remind yourself your stronger than you think 💙 you can do this. 💜
thank you for sharing with us ^-^

Stop shaming myself for things that are normal, but I've been told are not. I hate asking for things, because it was always seen by people around me as being weak or ungrateful. So, if I need help with something or I want something I'll just keep quiet or get mad at myself for wanting things in the first place which I don't think is fair to me. I can want things, it doesn't make me weak or a bad person to do so. I'm still working on it, but that's what I think being gentle with myself would look like.

I want sushi, so I'm going to get some sushi. I've had a hard week and it's in the budget so I will indulge a little and get myself some food.
@JollyRacher
Not shaming yourself for things that are normal is a great example being gentle with yourself. You're right, wanting things does not make you weak or a bad person at all.
I hope you enjoyed your sushi and had a nice weekend!
@EmmaE
It was great, I love sushi so much.
now answering from heart:
1) being gentle in my inner voice. Saying I believe in you, gonna be with you, you can make it and I’m sure you can.
2) I’m there with you, you not alone, simple small step a time and in the end you will succeed.
its ok feel stressed, tired, wanting to give up, it just means you are on the right path to change.
@shiningCloud47
Being gentle in your inner voice is a really great way you can be gentle to yourself. Reassuring yourself that you can make it shows a lot of inner strength. I completely agree, it's definitely okay to be stressed and it does mean you're on the path to change <3
Hi people. 👋 Just having a bad day and this post resonated with me. I lost my mother almost 2 years ago, and was missing her a lot today. Some days are worse than others. Also went through a divorce, relocated to another country, started a new job and was diagnosed with depression in the last few years...so its been rough. I just someone to hear me ...feeling very alone and hopeless today ☹️☹️. Like nothing matters. Like no one cares. I feel alone whether i am with colleagues or friends 😕 i feel directionless and alone. If 5 years earlier, someone would have told me that this is all you have to face i would have said i cannot go through this. And yet, here I am, struggling through each frikking day. Trying to do the bare minimum, and keep my head above the water...not even sure if this is the right thread to post.. but i just wanted to know that someone cares😕 😔 😞
@turqoiseOrange7980
Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear about the rough day you had. It sounds like you have been through a lot and I'm proud of you for reaching out here. All of us here at 7 cups care about you and are here for you <3
Being gentle with myself would be believing that classes will start okay tomorrow and that they don't have to be perfect. @LoveMyMoonflowers
i agree ^-^ they don’t have to be perfect 💙 thank you for sharing, @bestVase7265 💜
Not perfect, but I survived. @LoveMyMoonflowers
-Being gentle would mean being kind to myself, allowing myself to make mistakes, not forcing myself to be perfect. It would mean patience and understanding who I am and why I am that way.
-You’re doing your best, stop being so difficult on yourself, stop making yourself feel the hurt and the pain because you don’t deserve it .
@Sk2345
awwe 🥺 yes, definitely 💙 we are humans 💜 and that means we’re allowed to make mistakes. it’s okay 💙 we don’t have to be perfect :') i agree in that being kind to yourself and being patient with yourself ^-^ would be included there as well 💜
thank you so much for sharing 💙 i’m sending best of wishes your way and loads of love. 💜
@LoveMyMoonflowers
Hi! Thank you so much for your post! I really needed to hear all of what you've said right now.
Usually, it's difficult not to give into thinking about myself in a bad way. Being reminded that going slowly and taking one step at a time is okay, is crucial sometimes! I am grateful for that!
What would ‘being gentle with yourself’ look like for you?
Not to think too much about what I couldn't do today. Instead, focusing on what I accomplished and being proud of what I did.
What’s something kind you can do for yourself tonight?
Relaxing and listening to some music I like. Also, spending time with my girlfriend. And getting enough sleep tonight.
@cautiousVixen
Hi!
That's a really great example of being gentle with yourself. Focusing on what you accomplished rather than what you didn't is a really great way to be kind to yourself! It is definitely okay to go slow and take it one step at a time.
I hope you were able to relax and listen to some music :)
We're glad you're here!
