Could I be depressed??
I've been thinking about this for a while now since some of the things about me nowadays just scream depression, like lack of interest in things I used to enjoy, feeling hopeless (been feeling this way since I started high school), feeling tired etc, I don't want to self diagnose myself since I want to talk to a psychiatrist about it (if I'll ever get one cause my parents won't even let me have therapist so they most likely won't get me a psychiatrist)
I have sent through the exact things and earlier than high school. And I also have insomnia as well. I need to take medication to function, I've taken my own life 4 times as well. And I would have to say yes. You seem like you have depression, but it's a question of being genetics or at a point of your life. Because for me I struggle to do everything on my own with zero support no matter how much I ask. So I would say you are depressed, I'm no doctor or therapist but going to therapy and seeing a doctor for medication. It's different
It does sound like you are struggling and could use some support. Sometimes that can start with a family doctor or someone at school pointing you in the right direction. Do you have someone to turn to? @Yurnuthere
Since I'm not qualified, I can't diagnose you or confirm if you actually suffer from depression. I can tell you that what you described are many things I have during my periods of depression. There are also other symptoms I have: hopeless outlook, attempts to feel grateful don't work, attempts to feel optimistic about my future don't help, dwelling on regrets, sleeping way more than usual....
Since there seems to be some obstacle to seeing a psychiatrist in the near future, I think you should speak to others here to see if what you're experiencing falls in line with them.
It gets better or this too shall pass are my advice for any rough episodes.
I hope all the best for you.
does your school have counseling services and/or a psychologist? at my high school i had a school psychologist and a counselor. the time i reached out to them they didn't disclose much (the counselor did tell my guidance counselor about some details) not sure about the school psychologist tho..
i'm also not sure where you go to school, but if you're in the U.S. this may apply to you.
