Depression and waiting for liver

User Profile: Ratpick

Hello am a man 34 waiting for a new liver with my girlfriend I had for 12 years... She's my rock.... I do nothing bar take pills... Sleep medication and sleep more... I lost every lust for tv, shows, books, my dog, cuddling.... Good is just to keep me going.... No friends... No family... A phone that's quiet 24/7... And at the end of my rope....

The great thing is you are alive with a hope to live and not give up. Surely time will change and you find better life solution miraculously like you are still alive and breathing without liver transplant. Keep it up. God bless you

Hi I just complained about my life today and a friend told me something I think you'd love to hear... being to your wits end can be cool and all but we have the ability to hope which is what keeps us going even when we think our lives are literally at the end of break outs and we want to end everything

Your girlfriend is literally amazing and so are you because you have the audacity to hope even when things look bleak I think when we want to give up hope that's when our blessing is near I don't know if I've helped

I'd say you'll be fine but that's all we hear when stuff are not going well but no I'm going to say since all we can do is hope please don't stop hoping and do things to fill your cup in line with the hope

Hard to keep hope up... When it's pain,.... Been waiting for my diagnosis for years and now that I got it I am left alone by family and friends.... And it is really sad....

@Ratpick I'm sorry you're dealing with all this without the support of friends and family. It's good that your gf is sticking by you. Although it would still be a lonely life. It can be hard holding on to hope and enjoyment in situations like this. There's a lot of good people here in cups but it can sometimes take a little but for people to get to new posts. I hope you find some people here to be friends with and that you find a lot of support. You'll have to check out the chat rooms too, they're usually pretty busy and are a nice way to pass time

How long have you been waiting for a liver?

@Ratpick I hope they find a match for you soon. I wish there was something more we could do to help you get better. Have you looked into UPMC? I would imagine you probably did if you live in the US or some other program similar to it

@Ratpick That's good that they have similar programs there. Norway is a beautiful country. I've only ever seen pictures. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope they find some that can donate for you

@Ratpick I usually read horror or thrillers. But I also like fantasy.  My favorite author is Dean Koontz. I think his best book was Tick Tock.

I haven't read Oliver Twist in a couple of years but it's a pretty good one.
