Depression as a mom

Ive recently started feeling really down lately. I cant quite pinpoint why. I did recently start some weight loss meds, so that might be contributing to it. But im struggling to work through my depression as a parent. I feel guilty for even feeling this way when I have no reason to, and feel guilty that I have such low energy. I dont want to be a bad mom because im depressed. My daughter is 2 and so active, but im emotionally exhausted. Are there any toddler moms struggling with depression? How do you cope?

😔

You absolutely see not a bad mom at all 💙

You are doing your best.

And it's clear you love your toddler.

It's ok to ask for help to be the best version of yourself.

Small, consistent daily steps will allow you to feel more like you and get things done.

All that matters most is spending time together 💛

I remember how tough it was with my first baby. The lack of sleep, the constant attention… it can be exhausting…

there was one advice that I found helpful: Taking care of yourself is a way of taking care of the child. Because when a mom feels better the child benefits from it. So as long as it’s safe, sometimes it might be better to do less to return recharged later.

That being said I know in practice it’s often not easy to apply
