Dunno why I'm here...
Hi, I'm new here.
I've been struggling for a while. I went through bullying in middle school [I'm 22 now and it still affects me] and didn't get the emotional support I needed at home. I've been feeling exhausted, empty, and unseen for a long time.
I fell into an addiction over a year ago that brought me a lot of shame and made me feel more alone. I hate myself for it and I don't know how to stop.
I don't feel joy or excitement in anything right now. I want to be loved, but I also push people away because I don't know how to show how I feel.
I've been sleeping very late for a week and I have no energy to do much during the day. I only do the basics because I live with my sister.
I'm trying to find a way out but it feels too hard. Thanks for reading.

Welcome 🤗 💚Â
Nice to meet you.
It's really brave of you to be so honest.
Bullying is awful.
But I hope you know it's not a reflection on you 💜

HI there. Welcome to 7 cups.
I'm sad to read how you are struggling and feeling low and unheard. Congratulations of finding the courage to share here. I hope you find some support with your challenges here.
I'm going to give the clichéd answer, but it's clichéd cos it works- get help. Trying to quit an addiction alone is really stacking the odds against success. It can be a challenge to find the right help, but I found there were more options out there than I thought. Each thing I tried led to more options, so the thing I find is to just get out and try something, anything, and then move on if its not helping.
Don't let shame hold you back. The thing I've learnt about addiction is that the human brain is unluckily primed for addiction, and most people are addicted to something, they just don't recognise it. So the fact that you already recognise it is a huge first step that deserves congratulations. Can you be proud that you have started the journey to quitting, instead of resenting yourself for needing to quit?
