Emotional unavailability

I don't know if I'm overreacting, but this really triggered me. I've been diagnosed with depression, I've had multiple panic attacks and I'm anxious almost all the time. Therapy isn't something I can afford, so I've just been dealing with everything on my own. My boyfriend has never really understood mental health-he usually says things like "just be positive," and I often feel like he ignores how I'm feeling. Recently, his female friend(he has seen her facing a panic attack)started taking therapy and he asked me if he should check in on her.He has seen me cry like anything facing panic attack while he was on call,he has never supported me at such stages. But I actually told him yes because she deserves support. But then I reminded him that I was also diagnosed with depression, and he replied, "Her case is different, she's taking therapy." That honestly hurt so much. It made me feel like my struggles only matter if I'm in therapy, even though I've been silently suffering for so long. I feel like he's never been emotionally available for me and I'm starting to realise we're probably not right for each other. The sad part is that I know it, but I still can't bring myself to end the relationship.

@KPN28

You are not being unreasonable to expect him to support you and give you the kindness that he shows other people.

I wouldn't rush to make any decisions.

Instead have an open and honest conversation 💚
