Grief
I want to allow myself to grieve the loss of my most important friendship but im tired of so much on greif being abt someone passing away. Im not trying to dismiss that pain or say mines worse in anyway i just feel like I’m Overeacting but I can’t think abt him (or amything that reminds me of him) wothout feeling like im gonna burst out into sobs and I feel like I hear him and see him wherever I go. Im so tired of it. And since hes male I feel like whenever I talk abt it it comes across like I had romantic feelings for him but I didn’t. Im just so done. And theres only very few times I can actually let myself feel my emotions (not only regarding this) wothout completly shutting down and getting mad or becoming completly emotionless and doing absolutely nothing and not even eating or drinking water or amything
Hi @Panda2026
Im sorry youre going through this, it sounds like a hard and conflicting situation. It can be tiring to be sad all the time. Its also hard to pull yourself out of this routine while still feeling like youre grieving adequately. Please know grieving does not follow one clear path, this can be crying for days, distracting yourself, or moving on to allow yourself peace and showing to yourself or the other person that you are ok. Youre not overreacting, moving on, ending a friendship, or the death of a loved one can cause pain that is indescribable, and everyone feels it differently. I fully understand the not being able to stop thinking about him or the friendship - you have this emotional space that used to contain this friendship and now its gone. Give yourself time to grieve but also give yourself time to rebuild yourself, because you are you wether or not you have this close friendship and it might just take time to figure out what that means to you. Im also a listener so if you ever need more support you can reach out to me or any of the other listeners in this community

Hey, your grief is valid. Thank you for speaking up about that.
People often try to minimize other’s pain. They might think they are helping this way. Or maybe they are uncomfortable with facing it. It’s ok to listen to yourself. You lost something. It meant enough for you to be sad about.
I happened to be deeply sad about a lost connection this year too. I remember having this thought how this pain seems to resemble the pain of losing someone through death. I suppose the impact can be similar. The missing them…
