I carry it all alone but I still dream of hope
Hi, 7 Cups Community! I just want to share my story because I feel like I’m drowning and I don't know what to do
I’m 23 years old and I just graduated with a degree in Business Administration. But instead of feeling proud and hopeful, I feel lost and emotionally exhausted. I grew up in a home where I was treated like I was never meant to exist. My father called me the “bad luck” of the family. I later found out I was unplanned, and that truth still haunts me.
Despite that, I tried my best. I worked hard in school and earned a scholarship, which I used not just for school needs but also to pay for my PCOS treatment during college. I never asked anyone for help. I just kept going, hoping that if I proved my worth, I’d finally feel accepted.
Recently, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder. It took a lot of courage for me to seek help. But instead of support, my family got angry. They told me I was just being dramatic and ungrateful. They refused to support me mentally, emotionally, or financially.
I want to heal. I want to be okay. But I’m really struggling.
I don’t even know how to afford therapy or medication anymore.
I’m not writing this to complain—I just needed a safe space to let it out.
If anyone here has ever felt invisible, unwanted, or tired of pretending to be strong... I see you. I hear you. You’re not alone.
(If it’s okay to share to all of you, I created a page in case anyone wants to help or share:

You are truly strong in an inspiring and amazing way! 🥹
I understand how painful it is when you don't get the support from your family regarding your depression. I've felt the same way too, but just remember that there are people here on 7cups that will always support you no matter what (one of those people is me)
Thank you so so much ❤️ Your words really mean a lot to me right now. I’m trying my best to stay strong, even on days when I feel like I’m falling apart inside. Hearing that from you gives me strength to keep going. I may be hurting, but I’m still here and maybe that’s a kind of strength too. I hope someday I can truly feel proud of myself the way you see me now. Thank you for understanding me when I feel most unseen.
You can be strong too, I'll be here for you, rooting for you. May we all heal from everything. 🥰

It's totally okay! Just take your time. After all these years i myself am still struggling with feeling proud of myself sometimes , but it has definitely gotten better. Just remember that life has its ups and downs and you won't feel down forever. And i'm happy to know that my comment has helped you at least a bit 💜
Oh and btw i love your profile picture :D

And please try to not listen to what your family has said to you. Just because the negative thoughts/comments are loud, that doesn't mean that they're true. It's really painful to be born in a family where you were not wanted...but the truth is you are a worthy and lovable person, you are just in the wrong place. You are wanted and the world is a better place with you in it
Sending you support and strength. You got this! 🫂🥹
Your journey really resonates with mine. You're not a burden or unwanted, you're a wonderful competent human being full of strength for accomplishing what you have.
I hope you get the funding you need to get the treatment. There are also free health care hotline numbers for depression, you could check if there's one in your country. They're great for lending a listening ear.
We're here for you too at 7cups :)
@eyrabells3 i relate to this! you're pretty bad a*s, Beh ❤️. Reading this made my lil heart tear. I'm proud of you!
