I do not know what to do

Many years ago I deeply hurt my family. It lives with me every day, some better then others. Some days the sadness is crippling. The trauma has come back around, and I feel like it would be better for the family if i left. I just want to make it easier for them. Several years ago I had a few suicide attempts and was hosipitalized. I do not want to go back down that road. Maybe just seperate myself from my family will make them happier. And maybe seeing them happier with will help me in some way.

if you separate from them assuming they will be happier, how will you know or see them happy?

The real item is they may be miserable worried and stressed about how you are doing based on your past. We do not get to be both places at once and we can only guess or assume how others feel many will hide or fake their true concerns.   the only way we overcome or get past guilt is to be honest and communicate with others.

I say communicate because that is so much more then talking it is making sure the understanding is there.

It can truly be heartbreaking when you see you see your loved ones hurting because of you. However, running away may not be the best decision. How about trying to talk to them about it. You could also speak with a therapist. I'm sure this will help out.

Yes now I’m just giving them space. Have talked with a therapist on and off over the last 15 years. Have been thinking about getting into one again.
