I feel so alone and lonely. What to do? 😭
I don't know what I am supposed to do to have friends even if it's only 1 person. I feel so Isolated and withdrawn and Idk if it's my fault for being that way. I just wanted to be surrounded by good caring people. I want a community, I want a close-knit community who loves each other and are there for each other. Why is it hard to meet nice and kind people nowadays? :( It makes me lose hope in humanity.
I am battling Depression and Anxiety and I to be perfectly honest I feel inadequate as a Young adult. I'm in College, 22 yrs old . I didn't have the chance to develop social skills and survival skills so here I am, barely alive, barely making each day to survive. I feel so alone and lonely, I don't have friends anymore, every friendship I had before slip out from my palms and I don't even know the reason why. I don't exactly know what's wrong with me. I just want to feel adequate, happy, contented and alive, but even the most basic things are so hard for me to achieve, why is that? Why is the world so cruel? I feel like I don't belong to anything and anyone. I don't have social groups, I don't have anyone. The truth is, I feel very disconnected from my society and community.
What should I do? I just want to live normally and peacefully. I am so tired of feeling this waves of sadness and hopelessness in me. I wish there's at least one person whom I can call my friend but unfortunately none. I am so tired of being strong,I just want to finally rest and be at peace with myself and my life.
Anyone knows where to start looking for friends?

Hi @determinedNorth2172,
I feel very similarly to you. My friendships feel very superficial and it’s been that way most of my life. When I do find someone I think is on the same wavelength as me, I feel as though I mess it up somehow. Apprehension about reaching out is completely normal when you feel like nothing you do or say will matter anyway, but I can promise that nobody out there will think badly of you for trying.
Clubs in college were a good way for my sister to make friends if you prefer in person, but getting over that fear of rejection can be tough. But for myself I still can’t leave the house. I know it might not mean much, but I am - as I am sure many others are too - always here to listen if you need anything.
