I need help with turning negative energy into something positive
Im 18 years old. I am so angry at the world for no reason and i take it out on everybody else even though i dont mean to. I think so negatively about everything. Every little thing is such a big deal and i wanna fix it. I overthink every little thing and its affecting my relationship badly. I need to be like a tent pole that holds the tent down in a storm. I need to be there for her when she needs it and be her stone. And when i need it she will be my stone and we will be there for eachother. But i have such a hard time opening up. I wanna better myself for me and for my relationship.
I wanna turn that sadness and anger and
turn it into something positive.
Because i dont always wanna be
in this mindset of being sad and angry. Im
constantly worried about what im
doing wrong in the relationship
and i dont wanna feel that way. Im
always in this negative mindset.
But i need to learn how to be
the man she wants and needs.
One thats gonna be there for her
when she crumbles. And ill be
the shoulder for her to cry on.
And that way we arent crumbling
together.
I just have a hard time really explaining my self and it seems like im always so negative and it puts a chokehold on the relationship because she is constantly helping me but when she needs help i am crumbling with her and it isnt good. Its really bad.

I applaud you for wanting to grow. I think that's the first step right there. I want to say that you're still very young. You have a lot of time for push and pull. I think the biggest thing to do at the moment is to be still with your feelings. Be compassionate and understanding with yourself. Listen to those thoughts and eventually you will get to the root. In time you will start to notice the cognitive distortions such as emotional reasoning, overgeneralization, personalization, all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophizing, jumping to conclusions, and should statements.
