Loneliness in times of crisis
I won’t make this long. Found out yesterday that a friend is in palliative care. He is a cancer survivor and is no longer in remission. I communicated with his partner and expressed my availability for support. I tried to talk about my feelings regarding loss and death with my minuscule support network but everyone blew me off. My feelings of loneliness and sadness have spiraled out of control.

Losing a loved one is terrible and of course, if he was one of the few or the only one who supported you, it is even harder. But you still need to survive this moment. Remember all the good things that connected you with him, everything you had in common, all the moments of friendship. He will be gone, but we are all mortal and everything ends someday. You must be strong and move on, remembering him and not mourning. You are still here, you are still alive, so let your life be good as a memory of him. Hold on!
