Medication to treat depression/anxiety

Hey I just recently got put on medication. Sertraline to be specific but I'm worried about side effects or it not working and making things worse. I was wondering if anyone has tried this before and what their experience was like with medication?

P.s has medication and therapy helped together or one has helped more than the other?

We don't usually talk about specific medications here but I can tell you that therapy plus the medication is indeed better than just one of them.

It can also take a while to adjust to the medication. Waiting is the hard part. But if you feel you are really getting worse than you were, let the doctor know and they can try something different. @Sugarapplefairy5

@bestVase7265 hey thank you for replying, I can say that I am experiencing little side effects but I was told by the doctor that this is normal and my body might take 2 to 3 weeks to adjust. Hopefully it works x

Yes, most definitely 2-3 weeks is the norm. I personally have low tolerance, so it was probably a year or so before I had the perfect combination. But each person is different. Know that the right combo is out there for you. @Sugarapplefairy5
