My family causing my depression

Hi, I was diagnosed with Major depressive disorder and severe anxiety but my family doesn't believe in such thing. I thought I was a strong person but when I started to work in the aviation industry I wasn't prepared with work bullying, toxic environment and stress which affected me a lot. When I told my family about my mental condition they were upset and angry and was more concern about my job than my health. It was so painful and sad for me and I stayed in my room for months and stop eating. Now I am slowly recovering but I don't know what to do in my life. Everyday I regretted not being strong now I think I am a failure and I am scared to try new jobs because I am not strong enough to handle pressure.

@Kyleemily18

It is hard for people to see depression and even stress sometimes ...

they are not in your shoes  Family  and people see others as strong or believe if they play cheerleader they can get you over the hurdles you face in your job/ school or anything.

family often perhaps from a vision of well you need an income to access help / live etc and worry if you left job you would question what to do next and worry about what if the next job is also pressure you are not prepared for.  Tell them what you need as help or what they are doing is making it worse....  unless your family is trained in mental health care .... many people make unhelpful suggestions that they thought were helpful.

this happens to many people ..... jobs or careers looks good on the outside............. but the inside working atmosphere is not always visible until you are on the job.
