Next steps to healing

Hello,

I’ve been struggling with anhedonia/depression since high school (I’m in university now) and tonight I tried getting to the bottom of why I experience it and if I can do something about it. One reason could be because I’m not doing all the right things: Eating properly, getting exercise, socializing etc. However, another reason I thought of could be because of ongoing trauma I experienced with my mom from childhood to the end of high school, I subconsciously numbed myself to not feel anymore pain. And if this is a strong possibility, how can I address this?

It’s hard putting something like that in a post but I’d be happy to chat with you and listen further

I think that you address a bunch of things at once and chip away at them a bit at a time. There is no one set of practices that will definitely get you there. You experiment a bit.

Are you talking to someone regularly? That can help you process some of the older history.

I also find that getting outside daily (forcing myself on occasion) has been a lifesaver. But different things work for different people.@ivoryWater8206
