Past Bedrotting

I'm kind of mad right now, and I don't know where else to post this. I just figured anything related to bedrotting might fit in this community.

I was bedrotting for like... a year. It was within the last few years, but it's all blending together a little in my mind.

I never fully healed. During that time, I was trapped in a confined space, stuck with someone toxic. I already had other issues, but I was able to live life mostly fine despite those issues until I was treated poorly for years by someone I had to serve like a slave and could not push them out of my life.

Now I'm mad because I'm still affected, even though the bedrotting has mostly stopped. Now the obvious signs of my problems are gone, hidden away. Nobody cared back then and they care even less now. It feels like my silence pleases people.

Some people don't even understand the severity of the situation when I call it "bedrotting". Apparently some people think it's a trend...?

But when I use the term, I do not mean it as some cutesy way of describing rest. I mean I was unable to get up out of bed to take care of myself.

And I'll never forget how I was called lazy for it....

They weren't even sorry they said it. They were only sorry I heard it.

@BusyBird

Sorry to hear your upset. Things can sometimes be quite cumbersome. I hope things work out. I know it sometimes feels like bad things will never end but with grit and patience things can hopefully improve. 🌲

@BusyBird It sounds like you went through a really dark times.

It’s good to hear you are doing better now.

Learning self-respect is so difficult when you have no one to support you. You are doing it. I am glad you reached out here. Maybe you can feel less alone with 7 cups support.
