Sitting at the edge, I look out, I look down
I don’t really want to be here
I was happy in stasis, without meaning
I don’t think I can go back
Will I drown?

I accept this is how it is so I will not frown
Sometimes filled with cheer
I’m not even sure which way I’m leaning
Is it this or is it that?
What now?

I do not want jewels, baubles or a crown
Not even to be held dear
All of this has been my therapy it’s seeming
The search for fact
Why? How?

All my colour has faded to a murky brown
Nothing is at all clear
What do I hope to gain from this gleaming?
From a knot, a plait
