Political fallout
Hey y'all. I decided to share my political opinion on *** this year, thinking we should be able to discuss these topics respectfully. Despite my non-aggressive approach, I faced unfollows, hate messages, and even death threats from people I considered lifelong friends. It hurt, but I believe in free speech and differing opinions. How do you handle this? Tips and advice welcome. Thank you!

I wish I could tell you how to give you good advice about this. I had someone quiet quit a friendship because she felt i believe things she did not.... had a "friend " decide to not meet for lunch because get this ... I had friends on social media that had opinions that conflicted with hers..... LMAO
I realized these were not friends after all.... They are too immature for me to deal with anyway. People have views that change throughout life......... and if they felt their beliefs or ideas were correct, they should be grown enough to Discuss and even Debate ideas/ opinions and such. It is their loss not yours ... they chose to live in a world of make believe where anyone who disagrees with their views no longer exist
I recently in the last year took a job with a person whom told me quote "I have never had a friend/ acquaintance that was not of same political ideas as me " Sad they have limited themselves to group think.
So now we have discussions in a friendly way ...We found that is easy for people get along we have similar ideas about subjects but maybe different ideas about how to fix or address them etc. We put aside assumptions and stereotypes and found many things are NOT so polarizing as some feel.
I'm not sure, this political season so many people are scared for their lives and their well being, me being one of them. There's alot of unknowns and it's scary. I feel we need to focus on policies cuz all of these politicians suck, there may be a few outliers that actually care about people, but alot of them are only looking out for their own skin and their bank accounts. that's my thoughts on it any way. but it's really hard to say cuz somay people are so scared right now.
