Process of healing
I went through some trauma 3 weeks ago. Within a week I decided instead of crying over it that I would really work on myself and become mentally strong. So I joined a kickboxing gym, started taking snowboarding lessons, started journaling, reading and working on puzzles. Although those things do help at keeping my mind busy and out of a depressive state. I have days, like today, where I feel like I’m back in day 1. I just started saying affirmations and writing them down on my journal a couple days ago and although I say them and write them I don’t really feel like they’re true. I’m not sure what else to try. I have this feeling of a pit in my stomach every day and I haven’t been able to sleep throughout the night since that event happened. Im just so exhausted and feel like im not going anywhere no matter what I try
@bubbleNectarine112 Hello! I hope you are hanging in there. First, I want to say that I am so so proud of you for deciding to take care of yourself and not let your trauma take over. You should be so proud of yourself because that takes a lot of strength and courage. 💕 I'm sorry that you still feel as though you are struggling some days. I want to let you know that you are not alone in this and that trauma takes time to heal and that's okay. Some days are going to be really tough, but you are doing such a good job taking care of yourself and doing everything you can! When you are feeling down, don't hesitate to lean on those around you for support. You don't have to go through this alone 😊 We are always here for you as well. I am rooting for you!💙
You are doing lots of good things. They just take a while to work. Traumatic events are on their own processing timeline. Sometimes you will be fine and others you will be back at what feels like the starting point. Remind yourself that it isn't the starting point at all. You are learning and healing even when you can't see it. @bubbleNectarine112
