I failed my summer class and am now on academic suspension. This means I can’t attend my university for 2 terms. At this point, I just want to quit. How am I supposed to keep going despite having such a hard time? I feel like a failure.

Sounds like you feel frustrated and disappointed. I could talk a lot about this topic.

List of famous people:
Simon Cowell - Did poorly on exams, dropped out at 16

Drew Barrymore - In rehab during her 13th birthday, quit school. Now part of the UN World Food Programme.

Clare Balding - Failed to get into Oxbridge due to poor exams. Took a two year break, studied, and made it back in.

Benedict Cumberbatch - Got lazy

Bill Gates - Dropped out of school to take care of his business

Steve Jobs - Dropped out of school six months in, so he could go to classes that actually interested him - like Shakespeare, dance, and calligraphy

Oprah Winfrey - Didn't finish the one credit she needed at her university because she was busy doing what she loved and was successful at. "[My father would] say, ‘Oprah Gail’ — that’s my middle name — ‘I don’t know what you’re gonna do without that degree.’ And I’d say, ‘But, Dad, I have my own television show.’ And he’d say, ‘Well, I still don’t know what you’re going to do without that degree.’ And I’d say, ‘But, Dad, now I’m a talk show host.’ He’d say, ‘I don’t know how you’re going to get another job without that degree."

Jay Z - Dropped out of high school ... to deal drugs. It says in the article that 'at the same time, he always knew it wasn’t a viable path forward:' "At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small. You’re going to get locked up or [worse].”

This sounds like a very tough time for you, to be suspended for 2 terms from taking courses, it must've made you feel that you're stuck and wanting to quit is a common result. Maybe you can use this time to reflect on your academics. Perhaps figure out why you had failed the course, was it because you didn't have much interest in the subject, so you weren't putting a lot of time and effort in studying? Or was it a difficult subject where you didn't understand the material well enough? If you had taken another course with more interest, would you have gotten a better grade?

Being suspended for 2 terms, maybe you can find out if there are online courses (not from the same school), that you can take, and transfer the credit. I'm not sure which country you're in, but I used to take online courses from UniversalClass.com. But they offer courses only in certain subjects, so it may or may not have the courses of your field. If there are courses in your field, do ask your school first, if the credits can be transferred over upon completion.

Failing one course is not the end of the world, nor does it mean that you're a failure. As long as you don't give up, never consider yourself as a failure. Good luck~

There are lots and lots of people who fail. You just need to figure out next why things happened the way that they did. Did you want to tell us more? @carefulAcai8285
