Some tips and Input

Hey guys, i’ve been seeing a lot of members on here really struggling with certain parts of depression and I’d like to provide some personal input.

To start, depression does not make you lazy or weak. Admitting you’re depressed doesn’t mean you’re less than or pathetic, it’s a step towards healing! I know it can feel like you don’t take yourself seriously, but that’s part of why it feels so suffocating. You are valid, the things you feel are valid, even if you can’t physically see them.

Aside from that, it’s good to remember that depression deters you from doing all the things that help you recover; going to sleep at good times, eating good food, being outside and around friends, all things that improve your mental health seem impossible during a depressive episode or depression in general.

Some ways to slowly fight against it is by limiting day time naps to 30 mins once per day, which encourages better sleep during the night. There’s also making sure to avoid snacks if that’s all you eat, even if that means replacing snack food with healthier alternatives when possible. Sleep and eating are so heavily tied to your mental state, so please don’t put them off!

You are not alone, you are strong and this too shall pass <3
