I'm so tired of people saying "turn to god". Why would I turn to a creepy dude that lives in the clouds? Don't push something on someone who doesn't believe there's a creepy old dude in the clouds. SMH

as someone who was raised in a religious and conservative household i agree. sometimes when we're down "turn to god" is the last thing we wanna hear. unless someone is also religious, telling them that just invalidates their feelings and makes them feel ashamed and guilty. instead they should be met with sympathy and offer emotional support.
