I am not trying to go back to how I use to be in relationships but I feel like somebody is trying to tear me down. I use to be really mean and bitter at one point in my life, then I got with my current partner and my attitude changed, he actually helped me to see things through but as of lately I can feel myself regressing back to being really mean out of total annoyance towards his circumstances. We were supposed to be together last Tuesday, but his mom needed him. I barely talked to him from Tuesday until now. I’ve sent countless texts, a voice note, everything - still nothing, and, he knows this hurts me because we had a talk about it last weekend. I don’t have any friends to vent to anymore because I’ve been with him for so long, he actually got frustrated that I’ve been talking to male friends as well. I have therapy on Wednesday because I need my session right now. He knows it hurts when he goes days without talking to me and then pops back up without acknowledging anything I’ve text him or said. It’s really draining my mental health. I know some would say leave but it’s not that easy, I have to wait for my lease to be up in order to move which would be July. I don’t really have nobody aside from him that actually comes over to check on me. I’ve asked my grandpa multiple times and he doesn’t. I feel very stuck right now and as bad as I want to block him or even just act as if he doesn’t exist at times, it just doesn’t feel that easy to do so.

Wanna talk ? Text me

@sonnieeee

He seems to not care much…

Anyway, maybe you don’t need to break up with him to start prioritizing building friendships. I think it’s important to not be isolated in any relationship.

You can keep watching and it will likely clarify for you. If he gets upset about you rebuilding your life you will get your answers.

Can I ask why would you need to move? It doesn’t sound like you share the same apartment now.

It feels like he is upset about me rebuilding my life because part of the frustration is the fact that I’ve been talking to people and moving forward. It doesn’t feel like he does because I’ve blown his phone up with messages between last Thursday to Sunday night only to get no answer although I heard from him early on last week.

I live around the corner from him so he knows whew I am and I think that creates a sense that I’ll always be around no matter what. I’ve been trying to be more social and get out of the house more but it’s kind of hard because of my work demands.

@sonnieeee

Then, what if the next thing isn’t breaking up but prioritizing yourself? Asking yourself how do you want to spend time? Making plans for that? Even if it’s going for a walk alone, or taking a bath? Not dropping your plans when he suddenly finds time? No more chasing for someone who doesn’t reciprocate? No giving more attention than the one you receive? And watching what happens for x time?

You could start small. Like planning 2 evenings for next week.
