moments that have ended / vanished

Like a pink carnation,

a flower blooms only for a moment.

And the empty red eyes,

that should have shed tears as a mother.

A person that moves forward, though exhausted.

Neither a mad mother, nor a father, nor a parent.

She guides and guides, but no one to guide her to.

Neither a child, nor fully grown.

Yet the weight of responsibility still lingers within.

A person that shows the way, but loses her own path.

To leave when love is unnoticed.

In the mirror, she goes and looks to be alive, even only for a moment, outside.

Eyes that should have bloomed blink bright,

now like a parent shedding tears.

To whom she knows,

only few understand.

Only the one on the surface that is seen.

She who keeps on moving endlessly, tormenting her within.

She does care, and gives a bit too much.

She’s the path keeper, but also the breaker of a curse.

But though she also wishes for one to guide her to.

A one and only, just like her.

To protect her at times that no one does.

To stand up for her once and for all, an imaginary, non-existent one.

The art of coping, the struggle that is invincible.

The exhaustion that she feels as drained.

She’s told it’s okay, or maybe not.

It’s simply what she deserves.

No relaxation, to skip from the wonders of reality.

She wants to move forward, but bound with burden.

She’s told that it’s her own duty,

a duty to protect the one she loves,

but no one to protect her from.

@communicativeKiwi4255

I love the rawness.

The vulnerability.

The swaying between duty, expectancy and constancy .

Being there for everyone you care for.

But where is your protection and care?

Whose there for you?

The haunting final tones.

Depending solely on yourself.

Thanks for sharing.
