Unemployed and, on top of that, stupid.
Hi, I'm new here. I've been feeling really awful lately. It's easier for me to pretend I'm okay than to explain what's going on to someone in my family, because it usually turns into them making it all about themselves instead of listening.
The thing is, I'm unemployed. I studied a degree mainly to make my father happy. On the day of my final project presentation, he showed up almost at the end because of work. Now he's telling me I should get a master's degree because of the networking opportunities.
He knows what happened during my final project: my advisors covered up the abuse I went through.
At my last job, I was fired because I stood up for myself against a manager who mocked me and refused to take responsibility for her own mistakes.
He doesn't know that I got myself into debt because I made stupid decisions, and my ex-partner never helped me. He walked away before I even got the job where I had that abusive manager.
Thanks to my mom, my debt has gone down, but I don't want to keep telling her everything that's happening to me because she's already dealing with my sister's health. Last year my sister had sarcomas removed from her lung, and now she's dealing with something in her abdomen that's causing very heavy menstrual bleeding.
I use GPT so I don't lose my mind. I don't want to overwhelm my therapist.
Anyway, thank you if you took the time to read this.

being unemployed can be changed. are you looking for new employment.
We all have had managers/ coworkers who made mistakes that they loved to blame others for. I have not found a place that did not have that while I approve standing up for yourself sometimes, we need to choose our battles. do you even like whatever you got a degree in?
Quit living trying to please your father and you as an adult can talk to him about things without going to more school that may not help. some who get multiple layers of degrees still start low and it is frustrating that degrees do not always equal an advantage.
@Berriesinthemoon03 that's a *** of a lot to carry at once, pardon my language 😞
I'm sorry things are so terrible right now 💙 maybe connecting with a listener could help you carry all of it?
