it’s back. this god awful feeling. this hollowness. this numbness. why does it never truly go away? why are we cursed to live with this? i don’t know why i let myself get excited. be happy. when i know that it’s coming back again. when i know its only a matter of time before i sink so deep again. i try to distract myself with anything to feel less empty. i try to understand myself more and help myself. i still haven’t gotten around to telling my parents i need a therapist. i’m just really lonely. i feel so alone. i feel so awful. i just want it to end.

@pluckyCoconut4376

I'm sorry you are so distressed 🥺

And struggling.

It's very difficult to process our emotions , sometimes without help.

We need daily coping mechanisms to be out in place 💖

Hi ... @pluckyCoconut4376

I first saw your question here (and I answered it), but I also wanted to respond to this post.

Are you able to pay for an online therapist? I haven’t used one before, so I don’t know if you have to get a signed consent from a parent if you’re underage, but there’s a directory here on 7cups.

Until then, I encourage you to keep posting here and get your feelings out. I’ve never been diagnosed as depressed, but in plenty of fights with my ex-wife, she would always say I was depressed and needed to get professional help (and she didn’t say it in a nice way either).

Anyway, as useless and lousy as I felt when talking with friends, or a therapist, I do believe it helped a little to not keep those feelings bottled up inside.

So, I encourage you to please keep sharing. And if you have any questions at all, I’ll try my best to be helpful.

I believe in you to get through this.

that’s very nice of you. thank you.

about online therapy. i don’t have control over my bank account since im under 21. so i won’t be able to sadly. i’m trying to build up the courage to ask for help from my parents but its a bit scary because a couple years back i did. i poured all my feelings. they betrayed me and didnt help. so im undiagnosed too.

i can’t believe you remember me that’s such an honor. thank you so much.

i’m sorry your ex wife didn’t help you in the way you deserved. i hope you find better in life. i hope you get diagnosed and the help you need.

your words meant so much to me. thank you. i wish you the best in life.

@pluckyCoconut4376

You’re totally welcome 👍

I think it is very courageous of you to even consider asking your parents, especially with their past reaction. I hope they have had a change of heart.

And thank you so much for your compassion 🙂 My ex and I were both high school sweethearts … and 20 years later, I finally had the courage to admit to myself that the life we had built wasn’t really me. And I’m grateful to say that I’m very lucky to have found the right woman for me. We’ve been together for almost 10 years.

And regarding a diagnosis … I don’t know if it would've helped me. Life led me along different pathways that didn't involve too much psychology, but it got me exactly where I needed to be.

But who knows? A diagnosis might be helpful to you.

And this is really the key: your openness to seek help—That’s why I believe in you.
