good things

why do we expect good things to happen in our life? why do we think that we’re entitled to anything good? why do we think we deserve something good? does it make us hypocrites? or just human?

i hate the feeling after something is taken away from me. not because it could make me sad or mad since it was so close. but because of the hope i felt. the feeling that i elicited to myself. i’m the one that got excited and prepared myself and fantasized about it so when it doesn’t happen im only mad at myself for exciting myself. for thinking that im deserving of good things. for thinking that it wont end this way. for hoping. i think it makes me a hypocrite. i know thats self depreciation. i’m self aware that i wont think that away about anyone but myself. but i cant stop my mind. and i never could.

We all deserve love.

Happiness.

Peace.

We all want good things, sometimes we have to earn them.

It's about gratitude and knowing our limits 💛

What if people in general were all good? If we cared about each other just because it’s the right thing to do, where would good things come from? Would then the believing that good things might happen come from entitlement or it could be coming from the understanding of how the world works?

Now, we can’t say that this is exactly how it is. This expectation needs to be adjusted to be realistic. But still we do want to be a source of good things for those we care about. We might wish to be cared about too.

This is still simplified. But maybe it gives something new to think about?

Are you able to point out what stops you from thinking other people are ridiculous when hopping for happiness?

It sounds like if the worst part of disappointments was not the disappointments themselves but the ridicule you apply to yourself for hoping.

You deserve respect Coconut. You do. Just like the other people you have a compassion for.
