does anyone know if it actually will get better. everyone tells me it will but it feels like happiness is only temporary and my depression will never get better in a long term sense

@raspberryPenguin3084 Hey there RaspberryPenguin! It's understandable to feel like depression might be permanent. It's a tough battle, and it's easy to lose sight of the fact that things can get better.
Here's the thing: while depression can feel all-consuming, it's not your identity. It's a condition, and like many conditions, it can be managed with the right approach.
Think of it like learning a new skill. It takes time, effort, and sometimes you'll hit roadblocks. But with consistent effort and the right tools, you can build resilience and learn to navigate those tough moments.
There are many paths to recovery. Therapy can provide valuable tools for understanding and managing your depression. Medication can help regulate brain chemistry. And lifestyle changes like exercise, healthy eating, and sufficient sleep can significantly impact your mood.
It's okay to feel discouraged, but don't let that feeling define your future. There's hope, and there are people who can help.
If you're ready to take the first step, consider reaching out to a therapist or counselor. They can provide a safe and supportive space to explore your experiences and develop a personalized plan for recovery.
If you don't wish to speak to a therapist my inbox is always open to you if you'd like to vent! Also please let me know if you'd like me to locate some resources for you ☺️ I'd be happy to do so.
You're stronger than you think. I believe in you! ❤️
Sending love and light your way,
