self hatred

hey. it’s been a while since i’ve posted here. i was avoiding it to be honest. i knew that this was a place where i removed the mask and i wasn’t ready for that..still don’t think i am.

i found out recently that one of my close friends had built up so much resentment for me because of something i did months ago. that broke me deeply. i still can’t believe how much i hurt someone that meant the world to me. someone i never wanted to hurt. it’s been a month since i found out and they haven’t responded to my last message a month ago…i have no idea where i stand with them.

this uncovered a lot of self hatred. i feel so much guilt every single second of every single day. i can barely function as a human. they haunt my every thought. i can’t eat i can’t sleep i can’t study. i don’t have energy for anything. i feel so sick all the time and my heart is so heavy all the time. i hate myself for it. so much. and the silence is driving me insane because i have no idea what it means. i have no idea if it’s just space or them letting go. so i’m just sitting helplessly waiting…waiting for someone for something that i have no idea if it’ll arrive or not. and i don’t know if i should let go or not…when i really so terribly dont want to let go.

i’ve always had dark thoughts. especially recently. so that experience didn’t change that in any way. i still get them. i still can’t see a future for myself. i still feel this numbness and emptiness and sadness. but this heaviness in my heart increased a thousand times. i can’t seem to breathe anymore. i know that i messed up and i already reflected in what i did and took accountability. i know that im not the same person i was then…im not the same person who made this stupid mistake. i know ive changed. but i dont know if im able to forgive myself for hurting them. i dont think im capable of that. i’m just so tired all the time. im so unbelievably tired.

@pluckyCoconut4376 hey hey. remember to breathe. if you truly in your heart apologized and took accountability as best you can try to see the greatness in that. I’m in a similar situation right now with no response and it’s agonizing. Try to take care of yourself best you can water, juice, your favorite foods anything. Is there any other friends or supports you have? Sometimes people can’t handle certain behaviors and that says more about them than you. People have certain triggers and ticks. The person who sent you silence this time another person won’t you know they’ll respond? @pluckyCoconut4376 you know resentment builds from people not taking the time to deal with their own hurts. If your friend never got over it was their  responsibility to tell you and give you closure. Resentment does not have to build. You don’t need specific closure from them to accept you made a mistake but you’re trying when you made it and you’re trying now. A month is a long time it makes sense you’re feeling sad. If it’s possible you might have to reach out and ask for closure and if there’s silence there’s an answer. Your own closure is you being better trying better knowing you hurt someone and lost them. Yet you’re making sure it doesn’t happen again. That’s commendable

@pluckyCoconut4376 This pain is real, and so heavy.

You’re holding two truths at once: you hurt someone, and you’ve changed. Guilt can be a prison even after you’ve done the work.

The silence is its own kind of ache, not knowing where you stand, or if forgiveness is possible. It leaves you suspended.
You don’t have to decide today whether to let go or wait. You can just breathe through today.

Self-forgiveness isn’t about excusing what happened. It’s about making space for the person you are now, the one who wouldn’t make that mistake again.
You’re allowed to be tired. You’re allowed to not have answers.

Be gentle with yourself tonight. The weight doesn’t have to lift all at once.

Some times thinking how you would treat others in your situation helps.

We can treat ourselves worse than we would strangers.
