why do we live if only to die?

This is a topic that has been coming up a lot in my life lately.

I think that our purpose in life is to create our own purpose. I don't believe there's a force at play that decides it for us.

My purpose, as of lately, is to focus on doing things I enjoy and things that allow me to do things I enjoy. So I work a dull job, but it pays well. That pay allows me to travel, which I enjoy! This creates a decent balance for me, so I'm pleased with the outcome so far.
