I have a playlist for this! I ended up calling it ‘happy sad because its mostly those quiet songs that are sad but also make you feel kind of hopeful, if only because they make you feel seen. Anyway, heres some of my favourites from that:
Flares by The Script
Uneven Odds, Saturn, Pluto, Touch and You Are Enough by Sleeping At Last (One of my favourite artists, would recommend all his songs, theyre incredibly moving and beautiful to listen to)
You Will Be Found from Dear Evan Hansen (the crescendoing ‘you are not alones always make me tear up)
Another musical song (I love musicals) Light from Next To Normal, which is all about a woman with bipolar depression and her family, if youre looking for more media about mental health definitely check that out!
Heres To Us by Halestorm, Kids in the Dark by All Time Low and F**kin Perfect by Pink (these are more angry sad songs but they still make me hopeful)
