I am really in a self-deprecating depressive phase and I don't know how to get out of this cycle.
Hello, everyone. Hope everyone is having a nice day.
This is my first post here on this site.
I have always surfed for a lot of self-help materials online but this has been the first time in my lifetime of depression that I have actively taken a step to seek advice and some warm support. It feels really scary to even do this much; my trembling hands just adding to the difficulty.
Sorry... That was to long an introductory post for a "hello".
hello! i have been a member here for a few months. it has helped me a lot. i like to go in the chat rooms. i have met a lot of nice people there and it is a great place to get more support! i used to feel like i was the only one who felt the way i did but i have learned that i am never alone. i hope you find that here!
Good detail! This sounds like a perfect topic if you would like to message me for help!
@Chiragdh, first, let me welcome you in our community, lovely!
I am very glad that you decided to join us. If you'd like, you can introduce yourself to others in this thread - it's a popular first stop for new members.
Fighting with depression together is a bit more easier to manage. And having you beside me already makes things a bit lighter for me ^^ It is wonderful that you decided to actively seek help. It is very hard to reach out when you are in a despair, and depression often makes us feel that we don't really deserve any improvements in our life. You are already breaking out from the cycle by taking this little step of awareness. I am so proud of you!
Did you look at our community guide about depression? It can be a good starting point. There is also a forum thread about coping strategies, and also this awesome reply by @MidniteAngel with various activity suggestions.
Let me know if any of it interested you or if I could help you in any other way. We all care and want to support you, wonderful.
Lots of love!

For now you can introduce yourself here.
You can share your story here.
And you can introduce yourself to the depression community here.
Our members are our top priority. You are just as worthy as the next. Never see yourself as anything less than perfect. Here you will be deservingly treated like royalty. The listeners and volunteers are here to listen and support you. It is our job and our passion to help and aid others. There is no need to feel ashamed, nervous or worried. This is a judgment free zone.
No matter how different, how messed up or broken you are, there will always be someone there who will love you, help you and cherish you. You matter. Each of us are one and only's. Whatever you've been, whatever you are and whatever you will be. In so many insignificant and momentous ways. Truly the world would not be what it is without you, nor will the future. It's not selfish to put yourself first, it's necessary.
It's important to remember when you're depressed you have to nurse yourself and be extra gentile towards yourself. Just like an athlete wouldn't break an ankle then force themselves to run that ankle. They rest as it heals and do not think "I'm a failed athlete" they think "right now something isn't working so I'll take care of myself until it does."
Just like a broken bone, depression can change the way your daily life plays out. Pushing yourself too hard and getting frustrated when you don't feel better is like trying to run on that broken ankle and getting frustrated when it doesn't heal.
Always remember that you are BRAVER than you think. STRONGER than you seem. SMARTER than you believe. And twice as BEAUTIFUL as you ever imagined.
❤❤❤ Make today the day you change for the better. Because you deserve so much better than this. Remember that you are loved and treasured, and don't ever forget how amazing you truly are. ❤❤❤
