SLEEPING 🌸

Why Aren’t You Sleeping?
There are hundreds of reasons why you might not be sleeping well or at all, some causes being insomnia, stress, medication and lack of schedule. A lot of people suffer from sleep problems or disorders at one point in their life and it’s usually not long term, but it can escalate to that if you’re not looking after yourself or actively avoiding help with it. If you’re not sure why you’re not sleeping well, you should consult a doctor. They’re educated enough to diagnose you and give you the help you need. 🌸
How To Help You Sleep
- Use the 4-7-8 breathing method
Exhale deeply through your mouth
Close your mouth and inhale gently through your nose for 4 seconds
Hold your breath for 7 seconds
Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds
Repeat this method till you sleep
- Practise meditation before going to bed
- Drink chamomile tea
What does chamomile tea do? Chamomile tea is actually proven to be a sleep inducer and can cause your body and brain to think you’re tired by inducing a calm state, which makes it easier to fall asleep.
- Avoid naps during the day
- Listen to relaxing music or asmr videos
- Turn off all electronics at a certain point to let your mind and eyes rest
Plan out when you go to sleep each night and give yourself at least an hour without electronics before you go to sleep. Two hours would be better, but in the modern day technology is so common and natural now, it’ll be hard to restrict yourself so dramatically. 🌸

- Read before you sleep
- Reduce blue light exposure during the day
What’s blue light? Blue light is a filter put over a digital screen, including phones and computers, that emit blue light, which is defined as unfocused visual “noise”. This “noise” reduces the contrast on the screen and can cause digital eye strain, which can lead to keeping you alert.
