Small Victories

This thread is created after being inspired by the one named exactly the same, from the Eating Disorders Support forums made by @Anomalia.

I believe in depression, as well as in eating disorder issues, small victories are incredibly important! So many people who don't understand how depression work can pressure you to be happy, be positive, be something else... When in fact, every small thing you are doing is amazing.

Eg: opening a book (no matter if you don't actually read it after all), getting up from your bed everyday, etc.

I'll start:

Today is the 2nd day of the national mourning declared in Romania after a terrible fire that made 30 young people die in a night club. All day I felt so numb and incapable of doing anything. But still I tried to use my little energy to help someone else, I listened to 3 people and encouraged myself in the process as well.

What did you do for yourself today?

I went out with my dad, who I haven't seen in months, I hugged him. This is a small victory, because I felt something other than the void, despite being a very small.

@GiuliaSt

Woah that's awesome! I'd say it's a big step even if it seems so small. :)

Yay! I definitely think those small victories are worth celebrating, in any area! I'm so excited to see victories springing up around here!
