Hello, I'm Plum, I'm 13 and my hobby is singing, I've been in choir ever since fourth grade and my boy best friend and I even got a solo once in seventh grade choir ( we had to sing the first two parts of frosty the snowman). One weird fact about me is I love anime, my favorite anime would either be Hetalia or Assassination Classroom. I've had Depression ever since sixth grade. In sixth grade it start out as mild and than it got worse. I overcame depression in sixth grade to after my friend helped me through but in seventh grade depression came as I felt like I was worthless and stupid and lots of other bad things. I was builled a little in seventh grade for lots of reasons and I still have depression now. It seems like my depression rised a bit and lists of dark memories surround me still but I try and push through it.

Um,hi I'm new to anything like this, my name is Emily Rose,I'm 16 and I have no ambitions for life, but I thought I'd give it a try because as of today I started to plan my death and writing notes to people I care about for after I died, right now I'm scared of over sharing because I don't want my family knowing, I don't know how this really works, but anyway, I know why I'm like this it's part to do with a medical condition but it's also because my family is some what fucked up, in a simple way since I can remember my family have been broken but pretend that it's all okay, and emotions aren't shared unless it hurts someone in an argument.I've had close family members try to kill them selves In front of me when I was about 6/8. I've been bullied my whole life and bottled all emotions up to the point where I fell like I'm not aloud to cry,be angry, love anyone, be happy even writing this I'm thinking to myself everyone has shit to deal with suck it up. But I have to do this for the people I care for I need help. Thank you if you even glance at this.

Hi My name is Shelie I am 49 years old. I need help. I am very depressed. I stay in bed alot. I know my family doesn't want to be around me, because I cry at anything, say I'm sorry all the time. I have low self esteem. If it wasn't for my dog Gus, I would never leave the house. I gained 25 lbs this last year. I see a pychiatrist, but meds don't seem to help. I just want to go to sleep and not wake up. I live alone in the woods. I have an ex boyfriend, who lives next store. He is very judgemental. I tell him I never want to see him again, but I end up telling him all my problems, he doesn't hear me anyway

Hi, I'm Georgia. I'm 17 and very shy in person. I love to sing and play ukulele, as well as paint. I want to become a social worker when I am older but I know that if I am to succeed in that, then I will have to help myself first. I have depression and feel like I am going crazy, I would love to make friends to help me get through it so I can go onto the next stages of my life. xo

Hey I'm Jenna, I'm 19 and depressed with a bit of a self-harm addiction. I love to read and paint, and on good days go hiking. I guess I'm just looking for some people to talk to who won't judge me because I have no one in the real world to talk to about this stuff

Hey! I guess you could call me Panda (it's my nickname). I'm 17 and am very musical and love videogames too! I hope someday to become a professional musician. If not, perhaps musical therapist, psychologist or something to do with videogames. smiley

Don't ask me why I just told you that haha.

I was only diagnosed with depression and genralized anxiety a few years ago, though I have suffered from them much longer. I feel as if I don't get the help I need from my environment. There are a lot of people like me who need help, so the que is long. It gets pretty lonely sometimes, as my friends can't really relate to me and I can't relate to them.

I love making new friends though! In real life and online (even though it's harder online to maintain the relationships).

Okay, I think I'm done now! Have a super great day guys!

Hello, I'm Anaïs and I'm 23, from Italy, I've been suffering from depression for roughly 4 years.

I have a creative temperament and I'm trying to make it grow, after a long stop due to depression-induced lack of interest, I'm bad at describing myself. I'm always down to make new friends, even if I can be erratic in contacting people.

User Profile: MadMatt
MadMatt August 6th, 2017

Hi, I'm Matt, (I may be one of the few guys on this thread, but I'm not complaining lol). I'm 25, and I love comic book stuff, specifically anything to do with the DC universe; Supermans my fave! On top of that, I like music (play a bit of guitar), video games, hanging with the few friends that I have, and watching cartoons.

I wasn't really diagnosed with depression by a doctor, but I feel as if I may have some of the symptoms, such as struggling to get out of bed, or feeling really crappy about myself and being really self conscious about myself. I mostly feel I can't do anything right half the time no matter how hard I try, and sometimes people get upset with me about it. I'm really socially awkward and I'm extremely self conscious about that. My best friends try to tell me it's alright, but they have everything going for them at the moment and I don't, so it's kind of hard to relate to them most of the time. Anyways, I'm basically here to look for new friends, and hoping I can find someone that I can relate to, even if it is just a little bit. Peace out!

@MadMatt damn I really relate to that second part... it's hard when the people around you don't get what you're going through, it's easy to feel alone. You're not, though 😊

@MadMatt what I like about this is you have recognised your need and are being proactive. It takes strength to reach out through depression and reading the thread it looks like you have inspired others. This site has great resources for personal growth, members and listeners to chat to and these great forums. Best wishes to you 😄

Hi Matt. I really relate to what you wrote here.

You know people like us have the tendency to be really hard on ourselves. But I learned sometimes is ok to just admit we aren't ok and give ourselves time to heal :)

@MadMatt talking from experience you may not realise what positives others think of you. Plus I've always been socially subconscious, could be autistic tendencies could just be shy, I'm never going to lead conversation but I'll always play a part. However being a friend is not always about chatting. You can lean on them but not expect to give gratitude or be in debt.

I have friends who are global, from university, work etc who I've spent time in the past. They're like family. It's at certain times when they're just there and you don't need to ask.

I'm sure there are plenty of people here who can relate to you, not sympathy but something in common. Just don't doubt yourself.

I can relate to what you wrote. Thats why I came here. To find people who will listen and actually understand. I've found myself surrounded by people but feeling very alone because I dont feel like I can talk the way I need to. I dont want to bring everyone around me down and I already know what the responses will be. And yeah it feels like everyone around knows what they're doing, where their going and how to get there and me I'm setting reminders to get me out bed to do basic tasks.

@MadMatt Hi Matthew or Matt if you prefer ,

I read your info, I can completely Understand

you remind me of myself , I grew up loving and wanting to be SuperMan , also had a circle of friends who had the same kind of interest.

I never had no confidence at school and watched my mates dating different girls ,,and I remained alone , and started feeling very isolated and self conscious.

But I can tell you this and its a fact not just saying it to make you feel better .

It will turn around and you will grow inside as a much stronger person , you will have your time

believe me .

I know exactly how you must feel , anyway

thought Id tell you , what I know is true ,

it will come your way , maybe since writting this it already as but believe me , hang in their my friend

you will get your day in the sun .

If you want to mail be back then do so ,

Im a good listener and If not , Just remember

Your time will come , happiness isnt far away my friend .

Hi @MadMatt

I get what you mean. I haven't been diagnosed with depression either, but I have many of the symptoms. I feel horrible about myself as well, and it seems as if I can't do anything right and I'm secretly hated by everyone around me, and they get really annoyed by me. I feel like I'm worse than everyone, because everyone around me has their life together. I am not the best in social situations, and I'm looking to make friends as well. I love playing videos games, watching cartoons, playing music (the keyboard), and being with my few friends too!
