#1 lie you're telling the ones around you, and probably even yourself.
My #1 lie is that im ok. Im obviously not, but no one sees that because I say that I'm ok. I wish i could say otherwise. But I cant.

Hi Joy. It sounds like you've been going through a very tough time and have an even harder time sharing it with others. It can indeed be extremely difficult to tell others that we're not okay for various reasons. Sometimes for me it's when I'm afraid of others judging me, or making others feel burdened by my own sadness. It has taken a long time and I still hesitate sometimes but I've learned to open up to select people about how I'm doing when things look bleak. Care to share what's been making it hard for you to open up to others about how you're doing?

Ive talked to several "friends" about what im going thru and they ignored it. They made it worse.

I'm so sorry to hear that the people around you aren't supportive. :( Although mental illness stigma has improved over the years, it still unfortunately exists. I hope you'll be able to find more open minded people here.
It's the same for me. I really don't want to burden people with my problems, so I just pretend I'm happy for their sake. I know I'm not and probably never will be happy, but my depressed logic is "who cares if I'm unhappy as long as I don't bother anyone else?" On top of that I have all kinds of trust and anxiety issues, so that makes it harder to say anything to anyone because I'm afraid of being judged and hurt again.
Same here, whenever someone asks I say I am fine or even great. The only person who sees threw it is my boyfriend which I am thankful of but at the same time hate. He blames himself for my depression and thinks he can't keep me happy. But none of this has anything to do with him so I try extra hard to be happy around him and it is exhausting.
I just wish I could get myself out of bed.
