A "Catchup" depression/relationship failure Essay!

Well, it's been a few months since I was last on here. I had quite a few difficult months since I was last active here, as a result of my incredibly stressful completion of my final year of university. I recently I have felt quite low, made worse by rejection emails from employers, as I'm now looking for work. It makes me feel so lost. Especially doesn't help when my stepfather pretty much gives me an ultimatum, saying I should get a job in two months if I don't get one in an area I'm interested in. Even though my mum told me that I should do no-such-thing, as she pays the bills and I should apply for something I would be happy doing. Even still, it didn't make me feel particularly great/wanted.

And now now on to the topic of relationships, since I had to move back home to Warwickshire form university in Chester, I've lost pretty much all independence and chance to go on dates. And as I recently ran out of my "happy pills" as my friend likes to call them, I've been feeling really quite seriously depressed again, whilst drinking a lot again, especially how lonely I feel.

Am very sorry for the long essay. Any tips? Thank you!

@Simon22UK Hello, Simon! First, I want to say, welcome back to 7cups! Thank you for updating us on how you have been (:

I am so proud of you for completing university! I'm sure that you know that university is very, very difficult at some points, and you got through it! Though, unfortunately, sometimes the degree you recieve isn't a guaranteed job offer. You have to search for it, and you went to university so that you can do something you love for a living, and sometimes that's very hard to find, but it's out there! My dad always told me, "if you do something you love for a living, you'll never work a day in your life." And it sounds like that's what your mom is being very supportive when it comes to that (: You rock!

indeed graduating college is actually a piece of cake but finding the job you are interested in could become a huge challenge..I could say I was in your shoes..well..except the part where one of my parents was giving me an ultimatum..both of htem were quite supportive..still..as time was passing I realized I could get the job I wanted so I just got a job for the company offering to 'edit and rewrite my paper' so that I can have some cash and meanwhile search for something else..pretty sure a lot happened since April and I hope you are doing great but if you are still jobless and depressed, stop looking for your dream job for a moment, just get a job..it will take your mind off things (well..you'll be too busing working to think about something else) but still never forget about your dream job and keep on loking for it..good luck

First and the most important tip for you - do not be such pessimistic. Second, look for a job that you will like. Especially if your mother pays the bills for now. You have an opportunity to find a good place for you. I also had some difficulties in finding a job just after finishing university. First of all, stay positive and you will get it.

If you can`t find one very fast, start with freelance. I started with providing students with term paper help. And really soon i began my journalist career.

Anyway, don`t take pills, think positive and you will achieve success. Good luck!
