Abused and accused
I have been sexually abused twice. And both times were by my step brothers. Both of them denied and I was put out to be the liar. It is hard living in a house where no one believes you. I dream of a day where I would be safe. But I can never reach it.
Have faith, I believe you can do it. Talk to me if you wish. I will try my best to listen.
Hi Tess,. I am so sorry to read that you have been abused like this. And then disbelieved. This is sadly all too common that people who are sexually abused by family members are not believed. Adding horror on top of horror.
I am new here. But this seems like a great place. And you seem like a really good person. I want you to find a way through this. Because when I read words like yours, I automatically care about the person writing them. So I care. And I am VERY glad you are writing / talking about it here. Have you told anyone locally other than your family who does not believe you?
Hi,maybe we could have a chat if you feel yourup for it. I'm new here but have been through a sexual abuse situation involving a family member as well. I too was not believed or more silenced. All the things that you are thinking and feeling are normal. I'm only just working everything out in my head now and it's taken me years but I cannow see the light at the end of the tunnel! It can get better but you do need to talk about it as hard as it may beand being here is a great place to start. You have already taken the first step and that's awesome! ❤️
I'm so sorry this horrible thing happened to you.
Abusers almost NEVER take responsibility for the damage they cause. So they lie, lie, lie and use any excuse or rationalization to pin all the blame on the victim. This is typical, unfortunately. So please don't expect any remorse from your step-brothers. They have no conscience regarding you or they couldn't have done what they did in the first place. Ultimately, they don't matter. What matters is YOU. You deserve to have a good life. You deserve to be treated with respect. You deserve to be valued and loved.
If you can't get that from your family, then you need tio get it from your friends and most importantly from yourself. Please take extra-good care of yourself until you can get out of that house. You can get out of there. Maybe it will take awhile, maybe not, but you can get free.
I would urge you to call the National Sexual Assault Hotline - 1.800.656.HOPE. They can give advice, help you form a plan for getting out of there, or just listen.
Good luck and please take care of yourself.
