Alone with freinds

I just had my first nervous breakdown in a long time today. I just got through it, but I think it started because of what happened the other day. I was with a group of my freinds, but something seemed very off. I didn't feel like I could talk to them or anything, and so I just sat there most of the time. Then I realized that I was a stranger among my freinds. It wasn't like they were being rude or anything, in fact they were trying talk to me, but I still felt like a complete stranger. My depression was acting up really bad that day, but I started to panic today. Any advice that anyone can help me with to not feel this way?

@John04

I felt similar to this not long ago. I was very quiet and distanced from my friends and they wondered what was wrong. I didn't know why I felt like I did, but I later thought that I was having a relapse in my depression, in which I just wanted to be alone and being around people was really agitating me! I wanted to cry (I did later on, my first break down in front of friends) and I started feeling trapped in my friend's house. I don't go to my mum for help often but I text her at 3am saying I wanted to come home but I couldn't as I had had some alcohol so I couldn't drive the half hour journey home.

This is just part of depression I believe. You will have very low, inexplicable moods at random times and it's up to you to deal with it in a healthy way. I've had a couple of days to myself and haven't spoken much to my friends since. We all go out a lot but I guess it was just too much social time for me - I often need time alone. Focus on self care and be honest with your friends, it makes things easier if you ever need help during these times. :)
