Apathy

How do I kick it? I find myself doing the same meaningless things day by day. I tell myself that this will be the day I do something interesting, or go out to a new place or meet another person or write that one short story I've been meaning to write for the last five months. I never do any of it. I am just feeling so unmotivated and apathetic . What can I do? I hate it when I tell myself enthusiastically that I will do something but then I never end up doing it because I end up just not caring. Anyone else in the same boat? What has helped you?

@mimameid

A helpful tip I can offer you is that...

Do Not Lose Ideas. Always have a notepad with you. Every time you have an idea that pops up in your mind, take a minute to write it down or sketch it. Do not suppose that you will recall it later. They usually vanish.

That's where the start of motivation can begin. You have all this creative juice inside you but when you don't utilize it, it'll disappear within due time.

This creative juice is pretty much your motivational factor. Don't let any of it go to waste.

@mimameid Often in the same boat! I think of all the things I want to do and stop short of just doing them for various reasons in my mind. You could try telling someone of your intention to do something? That way they might either help to remind you or push you to stick to it. Perhaps, just the fact that you told someone might encourage you to stick to your own intentions. It has worked a few times for me. smiley
