Attention Seeker?
When we isolate ourselves from the people in our lives, are we an attention seeker? When we cut away our shame and thoughts with a blade, are we an attention seeker? When we hide behind a mask of a smile and we hide what our thoughts are truly like, are we an attention seeker? Please don't waste your precious breath let me answer. No. It's as simple as that. No, we are not attention seekers. Do you want to know what we are? We are the ones with the long sleeves and pants. We are the ones quiet, 'happy' around you, but full of pain when your gone. We are the ones with the eyes that don't match our smiles and the one with permanent tear stains. We are the ones with little to no sleep. We are the ones that lay in bed at night and feel everything at once. Replacing loud sobs of agony and pain with silent tears and overflowing thoughts. We are the ones who have felt so much pain that our emotions are actually numb! We are the ones who need someones attention, but sometimes we never get it...until it's too late.
@PercievingReading46 That is very well put. Thank you for sharing this with us!
@FaithfulPrune9638 Thank you. I have recently been hearing that a lot. "Your just an attention seeker" Not only to myself. I just felt that this needs to be out there. Calling someone an attention seeker could be more dangerous than not saying anything at all. Our words have meanings and we take meanings very seriously. We need to be careful because some people are attention seekers. But they normally aren't hard to find. We just need to watch our mouth.
