Being cheated on and depression

How do I get over someone I was with for 2 years who turned out to be a cheater and liar for the majority of the relationship? Someone I cried my heart out too, said I love you too, and was always there for him when he was going through a lot of things. It’s been a week and everyday I have an emotional breakdown. At the end I’m always hating myself for allowing all this disrespect, but another part of me wants him because I miss him so much.

I became that person he is. I became a really scary person, someone I wouldn’t want to be with but she stayed no matter what I put her thru. But this time after 13 years she has had enough and I feel like it’s really the end. It took for me lose everything to know what a beautiful life I really had and an even better one if I had tried. People will tell you what is wrong and how fix it if you listen.

@mitzi588 It sounds like you miss the good parts of your relationship with him, but feel ashamed over how he disrespected you. It was his decision, not yours, to lie and to cheat on you. You deserve to be loved and appreciated by people close to you. That includes yourself. Making mistakes isn't something to be ashamed of, it's part of being human. It's how we learn. It's natural to grieve the loss of a loved one, even someone who has hurt you badly. I hope this helps. Feel free to message me anytime if you want to talk more about this. I hope you find peace and joy in your life without him.

@mitzi588 I'm sorry you're going through this. I can imagine it's tough to have your feelings overwhelm you on a daily basis like you say, but it's very normal to feel the things you're feeling right now. That's not an easy situation to be in.

I can tell you're confused between focusing on the hurt that he's caused you versus the things you enjoyed in your relationship with him and the feelings you still have for him. How do you see your relationship with him developing after this?

@mitzi588You deserve so much love and so much more than being cheated on. I hope you feel better and just know that we are all here for you.
