Can depression make you feel this way?

Hi, I have a question that I would like to ask. I've been suffering with long term depression for what I belive to be 6 years now (I don't know when it started). Some days are worse than others, and today is one of those worse days, but a strange thought popped up: "what if I don't want my depression to leave?" I really do hate it, but why would I want it to stay?

@John04

Sometimes we almost get comfortable in our problems. When it's long term, it starts to be all that we know. Once something becomes our new "normal" it's almost hard to remember life without it.

I hope this helps even a little!

@HopeWithin I agree with that, and I also think that sometimes after having depression a very long time, it could become a sort of shield or protection from trying new things and talking to new people, because depression makes you lose motivation to do those kinds of things anyway, and new things are scary. So in that way one might feel sort of comfortable with being depressed even if it sucks, because everything will pretty much stay the same and stable at least. That's what I think :)

Tell people your feelings and they will find your weakness
