Can't sleep please help
My mom just passed away 2-3 months ago, and since then, I have to do activities to keep my mind off of the thought of my mom's last suffering days.
But, when I have to sleep at night, I can't do any activities. This gives me hard times to sleep because I keep thinking of my mom and crying.
I also has depression at my work because it's falling apart.
What should I do?

First I want to say I'm very sorry for your lost. My condolences.
Now about you sleeping. Is normal, at night like you said you have nothing to distract you. We'll I'm here to give you some ideas!
1) if you have a tv in your room/living room, watch it. If you can put it on a channel you enjoy (like a comedy channel). You get focoused on it, and you'll eventually fall asleep. Is a nice way to relax into sleeping - Also if you can make sure you wrap yourself with many blankets and the light of the room is dim.
2) Music! Make a playlist of super happy songs, or calming ones. Put your headphones, close your eyes and let yourself go. Music can be distracted but relaxing, and can help you sleep!
3) Exercise. I know you can't sleep because of your thoughts, but if you exercise your body is going to be super tired, and will be easier to not think about things!
4) Decorate your room. Maybe with some cute lights, a new blanket, some candles, anything you want. This makes your room nicer and more inviting. Is going to make you want to stay there, and you'll feel more confortable at night.
5) Take a very long hot shower or bath. Usually showers/baths make people feel better, happier. So is always nice one before bed.
6) If you have any pets , let them go to your room to give you company. If not, surround yourself with plushies or something. So you have some emotional support there.
I hope some of this helps you a bit. Griefing can be super hard and takes a long time, but you can do this I promise. Stay strong
Hi bubblecup, I'm sorry to hear you lost someone dearly to you. I think alot of people can relate and can only give you heartfelt condolences.
It will be a struggle at first and your have your good days and bad. It's important you surround yourself with positive people who are there if you need them. That can include work or home.
I know it's not easy right now, your right to tell us to sling our hook or go away which is fine by me. I just know that this is just a grieving process . It will not make you look weak or stupid. Just remember your a good person who needs time for themselves and only there own time.
Terms of going to sleep there is no easy way but to get the control back in your sleep . That could mean having a routine and sticking to that and possibly try something what might help you in the short term or doing mindful thinking like CBT what looks at your thoughts and behaviour during sleep can be useful but please don't take this as professional advice . I'm no doctor and with getting help and support in long run you need someone who's experienced in this area.
I'm not sure if you live in UK but anytime you need someone to talk to you can call the smartians on 116 123 . There here anytime day or night for emotional support/listening .
Hope that helps. Remember to come here anytime too. We're always here .
