Can we really blame others for losing control?

Hiya everyone!
I hope you are all well!
today out of the blue when travelling home from school I sat in a seat that some guy said was his, I was met with an incredible amount of anger and rage from him screaming about this very small thing. "Get out of my seat girl! Move!!!"
The last thing we ever want is unnecessary conflict so I've come to learn that small things that upset people usually come from bigger things that are usually hidden, so I thought to myself maybe this guy has had a terrible day, week or even year! I mean Covid and stuff has messed up all our lives in some way right? With all the uncertainty about everything thats going on in the world right now can we really blame people for losing control so easily??
Its very frustrating when things are out of our control, especially when we feel like we cant use our voice to be heard or do something that could possibly help calm us down, we become stressed or anxious because we cant get what we want.
For me personally when I cant deal with a problem and have a mini breakdown this leads to insecurities, "why cant I deal with this?" "Gosh I'm so weak" "Everyone else can cope with this why cant I?"
So what can we do to overcome these insecurities?? Firstly we got to yeet the stuff we cannot control.. And find healthy choices to deal with the stuff that we can control.. Ask yourself - "What can I control in this moment?"
Like I always preach it always starts with you.... You're the most important thing to yourself... You're priority number 1.. So... What can you do for you?? Then when you feel comfortable what can you do for others?
I read a report the other day that 40% of 13-16 year olds in the UK wont engage in lengthy conversations with people they dont know. Maybe we should start there?? talking to people who are lonely, joining groups, learning from strangers. We need to connect in a small way before we can change the bigger stuff. Talk and listen, help each other. Control your negative feeling with spreading positive and loving ones.
Take care of yourselves
Mol xoxo

Amazing post Molly! The "yeet the things you can't control" made me laugh, but it's so true. Gotta let go of what you can't control and focus on what you can control. I agree, we should talk to people more, it can be really helpful for you and/or them! :) <3
Recently I read a theory from someone that was about a similar topic. They called it the Fork Theory. They said that a person could only have so many "forks" stuck in the before they would have a breakdown. They also said that the "forks" could come in many different sizes, from a small fork to a large one. They also note that the "volume to quantity ratio means that the number of forks you can hold is not absolute" The example they gave was "I might be able to hold 20 little escargot fork annoyances, such as a hangnail or slightly suboptimal pants, but not even one "you poked my trigger on purpose because you think it's fun to see me melt down" pitch fork" (quotes from @jenroses on tumblr)
You never know what's going on just below the surface. Talk to someone new (if you can) every once in a while. Who knows, you might find a new best friend :)

I really do agree with you, you put it beautifully, we have to focus on what we can control. And talking to people, trying hobbies and having meaningful conversations is really important in this day and age since loneliness is at its highest peak.
