Days without connection
Today was one such day. I felt no feeling, no connection with anything. Usually I find consolation in prayer but not today. Didn't do any activity either. Just slept. I'm taking medication. What do I do to bring myself back to living things?
@Creamyyy I'm sorry to hear that today wasn't the brightest of days for you. What you're describing sounds like numbness and just a general sense of hollowness inside. I don't know what your medication is for but numbness can be an indicator of depression (although the numbness experienced during depression usually persists for long periods of time). So as to not overwhelm yourself, perhaps you could take baby steps by engaging in one activity at a time that you take pleasure in? In case you notice a shift, that probably means you're on the right path.
@Creamyyy I pay attention to some part of my body, like my feet. What is my foot touching. How does it feel on the outside of my feet. How does the inner part feel (usually warm and like there is a lot of energy bouncing around in there). All of that feeling is almost surprising each time because 99.9% of the time I pay no attention. Also I try to remember what I’m grateful for. I usually don’t spend more than 2 to 3 minutes doing this, but it helps to at least remind me that there is more available to me than whatever mood I’m in. Often times after this I go back into my mood but maybe I’m just a little less caught up in it.
I am hoping that today was easier for you. I know that for me, connecting to the outside world by walking or just being outside are critical to restarting myself. @Creamyyy
@bestVase7265 thanks for the tip. I'm a bit better now.
That is great. I hope that you have a good weekend. @Creamyyy
